RT Book Reviews ? July 2011 Picks | CSI: Librarian

RT Book Reviews July 2011Well, it was taking a long time for this magazine to get to my library so I ended up buying a copy from Barnes & Noble. I think I?ll probably be subscribing to this magazine soon too. I really love the reviews and the scope of genres RT Book Reviews covers.

Also reader beware: July is gearing up to be a crazy-good months for books! The list for the books reviewed or featured in this issue that I?d like to read is epic so I?m doing direct links to GoodReads instead of covers.

Historical Romance:
A Wedding Wager by Jane Feather ? Just got a review copy from Pocket Books so yay!
Heiress in Love by Christina Brooke
How to Seduce a Scoundrel by Vicky Dreiling
Silk is for Seduction by Loretta Chase
The Tudor Throne by Brandy Purdy
Waking up with the Duke by Lorraine Heath
When Passion Rules by Johanna Lindsey

Mystery, Suspense, & Thriller:
Bones of Avalon by Phil Rickman
Dark Enquiry by Deanna Raybourn ? I really need to read this series.
Death at Chateau Bremont by M. L. Longworth
Missing Persons by Clare O?Donohue

Paranormal Romance:
Touch If You Dare by Stephanie Rowe ? I loved Kiss At Your Own Risk so I CANNOT wait to read book 2 in the Soulfire series.

Romantic Suspense:
Cold Touch by Leslie Parrish ? Also Paranormal, looks great!
Cover Me by Catherine Mann
Hot Zone by Catherine Mann Comes out in December.
In Close by Brenda Novak ? Comes out in October.
In Seconds by Brenda Novak ? Comes out in August.
Inside by Brenda Novak
Pele?s Tears by Sharon K. Garner

Science Fiction/Fantasy:
A Dance with Dragons by George R. R. Martin
Blood Work by Kim Harrison ? Graphic novel, I need to read the rest of the series first though.
Dead Iron by Devon Monk
Heartless by Gail Carriger ? I need to get caught up on this series first. Sadly, Heartless didn?t get a great review, but I?ll still give it a shot at some point.
Mechanique: A Tale of Circus Tresaulti by Genevieve Valentine ? I?m not sure if this will be my cup of tea or not so I?ll get it from the library.
The Snow Queen?s Shadow by Jim C. Hines ? Didn?t like the first book much, but this last book looks totally awesome!
The Thackery T. Lambshead Cabinet of Curiosities edited by Ann and Jeff Vandermeer

Teen Scene:
Lost Voices by Sarah Porter ? Didn?t get a great review, but I love the premise.
The Other Countess by Eve Edwards
Sirensong by Jenna Black ? From yet another series I really need to read ASAP.

Urban Fantasy:
Black Heart Loa by Adrian Phoenix
Hammered by Kevin Hearne - I have an ARC that?I need to read soon, but I?m still excited about this book coming out! I also have to say I disagree with the reviewer quite strongly in some respects if only because I don?t think a book?s merits or flaws should be based on the gender of the characters said book focuses on.
My Life As A White Trash Zombie by Diana Rowland ? Awesome cover, awesome premise.
Viper Moon by Lee Roland

Hello, I'm April. I am a librarian, reader, and writer whose main goal in life is to be able to swim in books the way Scrooge McDuck swims in money. I have met plenty of books I didn't like, but on the whole, I love the printed word and fictional people. My blog, CSI:Librarian, is for reviews, rants, and the continuing documentation of my love affair and addiction to books.
