The Mediterranean City - Latino Business Chamber

The Council for Watershed Health is Southern California?s trusted hub for watershed research and analysis, uniquely able to influence policy and inform practice through convening forums and conducting applied research that is reliably fair, objective and rooted in science. Established in 1996, the Council drives an inclusive process to preserve, restore, and enhance the economic, social, and ecological health of our watersheds through applied research, education, and planning.

The Mediterranean City: A Conference on Climate Change will initiate an ongoing collaboration of Mediterranean cities working together to address the management challenges they face by creating new and strengthening existing ties between scientists, policy makers, elected officials, corporate sustainability leaders, engineers, planners, government resource managers and others in Mediterranean climate cities.

The conference will stand as an example for how cities can work together across regional and national boundaries to bring more resources and knowledge to building solutions. Planning will include explicit reference to a series of conferences to be held throughout the Mediterranean regions over the coming decade. From this conference, a publication, website and organization will be created that continues to build on the work set forth from the original conference.
