ROCKPORT ? Do you, or does someone close to you, live with chronic heart disease? Do you want to stay out of the hospital and improve the quality of your life? Are you unsure about what to eat, what your medications are for, or how to increase your activity?
If so, sign up for The Beat Goes On, a five-week course to be held on Thursdays, Sept. 29 through Oct. 27 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Picker Family Resource Center. The course will be presented by the staff of Pen Bay Cardiac Rehab.
The five classes will specifically address issues surrounding heart failure. Topics include skills for living well; managing stress; understanding medications for this condition; eating well and the role of sodium; and how to be active with heart failure.
Participants are encouraged to invite a family member or friend to join them. There is a $5 fee for the entire series, and scholarships are available. For more information or to register for this event, please call 596-8950.
The Picker Family Resource Center is located between the Women?s Health Center and Urology Building on the Pen Bay Medical Center campus, 3 Glen Cove Drive, off Route 1 in Rockport. Use the parking lot and door nearest the Urology side of the building. Call 596-8950 for directions if needed.
