MOSCOW ? Iran and six world powers have started a second day of meetings as they try to break a deadlock at talks focused on reducing fears about Tehran's nuclear intentions.
The meeting Tuesday follows a first day of negotiations that diplomats from some of the six countries engaging Iran in Moscow described as tough and frustrating. They requested anonymity, saying they were not authorized to discuss details of a closed meeting.
Iran, says its nuclear program is peaceful. It wants the six to recognize its right to enrich uranium, which can be used both to make reactor fuel and to create the core of nuclear arms. It also wants an easing of sanctions, particularly those crippling its oil exports.
The six say Iran must curb its enrichment activities before any sanctions relief can be discussed.
