PESHAWAR, Pakistan ? Police say flash floods triggered by heavy monsoon rains have swept through a village in northwest Pakistan, killing six people and leaving a dozen others missing.
The floods hit the remote Kundian Valley in the northwest of the country on Wednesday.
Police officer Abbas Khan said rescuers on Thursday found six bodies and efforts were under way to trace the missing.
In Pakistan, monsoon rains begin in July and they often lead to flooding Last year, the worst floods in the nation's recorded history affected up to 20 million people.
Kundian Valley lies 156 miles (250 kilometers) northeast of Islamabad.
